Living in the exclusive London suburb of Sevenoaks should have been a dream come true for those fortunate enough to be able to afford it. And it was, until that one particular summer when there was an alleged sighting of a big cat perched on the hood of a car. Interestingly enough, it was Adam, the husband of the neighborhood's resident zoologist Coralie King who spotted the cat. Coralie soon finds a way to use the sighting to further her agenda. Will it work? Coralie's neighbor Emma is skeptical about the veracity of the sighting but welcomes any distraction from the problems she is having getting her home remodeling plans approved. Her neighbor, Twig Dorsett, had fled Sevenoaks years ago but was forced to return with her family due to their child's illness. She doesn't know what to believe. As the story unfolds, it becomes obvious that any perceived danger from a big cat is just one of the problems the residents face.
