Thea, a social worker in a New York City psychiatric facility is no stranger to trauma. The narrative is packed with psychological terms and theories that offer possible explanations for the often intense and even controversial sessions. As readers follow Thea's experiences, we see a woman who is certain she can remain focused on her mission and not be taken in by the cult-like couple. The skillfully constructed narrative is rife with flawed characters. Some are better than others at concealing who and what they really are. Cleverly plotted and fast-moving, THE LAST SESSION is a haunting and provocative story. It will leave readers wondering if anyone at all can be trusted.
