Romance Historical

Daisy Tanner returns to England determined to put her past behind her. At 16, she and her father were convicted of poaching and sent to Botany Bay. To survive, Daisy married a guard for protection, only to become the victim of his physical abuse. Her salvation occurred when he broke his neck, leaving her unexpectedly rich. Wishing for a peaceful and quiet life, Daisy desires marriage to an older man who will not put physical demands upon her. She appears on the doorstep of a possible candidate only to be intrigued by his younger friend.

Rake and libertine Leland Grant, Viscount Haye, doesn't like the calculating look the delectable young woman is giving the man he loves like a father. After learning her criminal background, Leland decides to turn his famous charm upon her. Known for his wicked humor and seductive manner, Leland proceeds with his plan. However, his own growing feelings for Daisy soon start to interfere. Leland discovers in Daisy a kindred spirit, but convincing Daisy of that will take all of his expertise.

Daisy's past rears its ugly head and threatens to put her in Newgate. On the brink of becoming an outcast and losing her freedom, Daisy must overcome her fears and place her fate with Leland.

Ms. Layton completes her Botany Bay series with a touching, poignant tale of an abused woman learning to trust and love a man who's battling his own demons. With its compelling plot and dialogue layered with innuendos, HOW TO SEDUCE A BRIDE is a memorable read.

SUMMARY

How does one seduce a bride?

Step One: Lay bare her mysteries...

Daisy Tanner has taken the ton by storm and Leland Grant, Viscount Haye, wants to know everything about this ravishing, secretive woman who is tempting his friend into marriage. Though his rakish reputation is the stuff of legend, Leland is curiously undone by this exquisite creature who threatens to turn his footloose single life topsy-turvy. Never has he wanted a woman more...

Step Two: Strip her of her inhibitions...

Having survived a difficult past, Daisy now desires the security of an uncomplicated marriage with some safe, undemanding gentleman. How dare this dashing rogue Lord Haye distract her with his suspicions...and unbalance her with his sensuous promises? If Daisy isn't careful, her scandalous history could become common knowledge. Worse still, she might actually fall in love with this notorious seducer whose touch excites her like nothing has before...
