In MAKE YOU LOVE ME, LeQuisha is a hard-working woman
determined to find a good man to be her husband and father
to her three kids; Not like their no good daddy—he's in
prison or the married men she's been seeing to help pay her
bills. She thinks she's found the perfect man in Tate
Gibson, a fine-looking thing cut in all the right places,
whose job as an executive at an insurance company will give
her the holy trinity of support, stability and safety.
Only problem is...Tate treats her like trash; won't take her
out in public or introduce her to his friends and family. He
won't even meet her kids!! I really didn't like this
shallow player of a character. He had intelligence, a good
background and supportive family (goes over to mama's house
for dinner every Sunday) but the moment I realized he
thought he was better than LeQuisha, I just couldn't feel
any sympathy for him. With that good foundation, where did
the shallowness come from? And, having sex with a co-worker
during business hours while keeping LeQuisha on the side and
dating a Tangy, a younger college age virgin all at the same
time. He just isn't hero material.
Not stupid, LeQuisha figures out Tate's true character and
goes to work to create a "new" woman. She enrolls in college
to become a nurse... and not to spoil the plot here, but
will say it ends satisfactorily.
MAKE YOU LOVE ME is the first book I've read by LaTonya
Williams and I did feel strongly about it so I can't say
it's not a good read, but it's more of a chick-lit than this
reader needs -- I want the "Happily Ever After" guaranteed.
But, Tate gets what he deserves in my opinion and I think
other readers will agree.
A man with a good job, nice house, muscular build, and
irresistible talent in the bedroom. Carmela wants him
for the same reason he wants her.LeQuisha needs to secure a
husband and father to her three children. Either way
you slice it, Tate Gibson is a very satisfied man.
Refusing to commit to either relationship, Tate has no
problem sharing himself with these two women. That is,
until he meets Tangela. From the moment he lays his
eyes on this divine beauty, he falls for her. However,
Tangela has an agenda too. And she will stop at
nothing to win over the man she believes to be her soul
mate.
When three women are
willing to serve it up just the way he likes it, what's a
man to do? With a sizzling combination of sexual
indiscretion and female competition, Make You Love
Me will tantalize readers and leave them screaming
for more. LaTonya Y. Williams spins another riveting
tale that poignantly demonstrates a woman's private
desperation to conquer a man's love.
