As they prepare to embark on their careers, the women support each other and promise to be at each other's future weddings.  The story unfolds by alternating from the present to the past.  In the present day, the women are estranged as lonely Madison receives the invitation to Ava's wedding at her home in Italy.   The flashbacks to their college years reveal the insecurities that lead to a breach of trust that shatters their friendship.   With Madison deep in a professional scandal, she decides to fulfill her promise even if she can't forgive Ava's betrayal. With descriptive language, the author transports the reader into the sights, smells, and food of Italy.  The characters are endearing and flawed and grow as secrets are unveiled and they determine if their former relationships receive a second chance.  Fully immersive read that caused me to tear up and laugh out loud more than once.
