It’s a given with any Kennedy Ryan romance love will be abundant and that love will not be easily attained. Anything worth having never is as the saying goes. She writes with sensitivity and finesse on subjects that are hardly pleasant but need a voice. She creates characters that face situations any one of us could go through. She keeps it real and entertaining.
In HOOK SHOT, the hero, Kenan, is a superstar NBA player with a teenage daughter. He just got divorced and is in New York for the summer to spend time with his daughter. I loved that Kenan is a man and not a boy. He is a lovable, grumpy, and gentle giant. He will steal your heart instantly.
Lotus is a kicka$$ heroine. Fashion is her career and she's damn good at it. She is a survivor of child sexual assault and we follow her journey of how this one event affected her entire life. I admired Lotus throughout her story for being strong when she felt weak. I think she was the best character in the HOOPS series. There was so much raw emotion between Lotus and Kenan. You felt their struggle to come together when everything constantly pushed them apart.
HOOK SHOT was a wonderful read, with heartbreaking moments, but we also got some funny, carefree moments where Lotus and Kenan got to know one another. And all this passion…
Damn. Kennedy Ryan knows how to deliver the best steamy stuff and I'm here for all of it. So, trust me, grab HOOK SHOT. It’s a delicious, intoxicating, and sexy story of passion, love, and heartache, with a twist… of magic, perhaps?
From award-winning author Kennedy Ryan comes the
emotional final installment of the Hoops trilogy.
She's not the plan he made, but she's the risk he
has to take.
A single, divorced dad in the final years of his
basketball career, Kenan Ross's perfect life has blown up in
his face. He's still picking up the pieces when he meets
Lotus DuPree. A wildflower. A storm. A kick to his gut and a
wrench in his plans from the moment their eyes meet. He
promised himself he'd never trust a woman again, but he's
never wanted anyone the way he wants Lo.
At twenty-five, Lotus is finally living out her dream,
becoming a force in New York's fashion scene. Focused on her
future and not looking for love, she's seen where trusting a
man leaves you. Kenan is the last thing she needs. But from
the moment they meet, she's drawn in, even if he's eleven
years her senior and her opposite in every way.
When Kenan moves to New York for the summer to be near
his daughter, Lotus can no longer avoid the attraction that
pulses between them—but she still won't let him in.
Not after what she's been through. Except Kenan wants her so
badly, he'll do anything to knock down her defenses.
He won't give up on her…and soon, she's no longer
sure she wants him to.
