THE GOOD ONES by Polly Stewart is a work of literary suspense and a psychological thriller. The author is a master of creating a compelling narrative. The deeper Nicola probes into the case the tension and suspense increase and with good reason. There is no shortage of suspects and all the characters are flawed. The many layers of the complex relationship between Nicola and Lauren are carefully peeled away and examined leaving unanswered questions. As Nicola learns that all she thought she knew about Lauren and her life was not as it seemed, she comes face to face with her own past as well.
