Katie McGrath has gone through every teacher’s nightmare, a school shooting. She almost died and is considered a hero for saving her students. Katie decides that a change is what she needs to move on. Sam Youngblood is a local sheriff. A widower with twin daughters, he’s curious about his new neighbor. Sam’s life is busy and dangerous. As these two neighbors get to know each other and their attraction grows, they’ll find The Next Best Day is in their near future.

Sharon Sala’s THE NEXT BEST DAY is a stand-alone story of teacher Katie McGrath whose worst nightmare comes true: a school shooting that almost takes her life but makes her a hero for saving her class. Needing a change Katie heads to teach in Borden’s Gap, Tennessee hoping the new scenery and different environment will help with her PTSD. Widowed sheriff Sam Youngblood's life is extremely busy, especially with his twin girls. He’s not looking for a romantic relationship and is content with his life. Sam’s neighbor may change his plans. As these two characters get to know each other as neighbors and possibly more, connections are made and fears may be left behind.

Sharon Sala’s THE NEXT BEST DAY is a small-town story that deals with fear, attraction, and a little humor in Sala's unique style, telling a heartfelt and gripping story of what might happen to a teacher after a school shooting and her determination to overcome the trauma and move on with her life by changing location and hopefully finding a way to live her life to the fullest. This reader enjoyed THE NEXT BEST DAY and thinks it’s a wonderful read.
