This tale is set in Westmoreland, England, in 1349. Leoma is a witch hunter wanting revenge for the death of her best friend. She was found at a young age and trained by her mentor and her husband. Leoma isn’t about to give up what the witches are up to either. Braith is a knight who became an earl. He’s known nothing but fighting his entire life. Braith is coming after the woman who killed his ward and heir. When Leoma and Braith’s paths cross, they just may find something other than revenge. They’ll discover that together each will find their own EVERSONG.
EVERSONG is the first book in Donna Grant’s Kindred series. She takes two people set on revenge against the same woman. A woman raised knowing of magical beings and magic and as a fighter against, especially witches. She’ll have feelings she never had before. He’s been a warrior all his life and thought he had put that world behind him until a woman shows up on his lands and causes havoc. He’ll fall back into his old life to get revenge on that woman who destroyed his life. When these two characters meet going after the same person. Protective instincts kick in for both and a strong attraction that they may not be able to resist. Trust will have to be earned. A man learns that things aren’t as they seem. EVERSONG has humans and witches in a battle of good and evil. Who will come out on top? Along the way, secrets are revealed, and love grows. Witches want power and will do anything to get it. A small group of people are trying to stop them. Donna Grant’s Kindred series gets a powerful start with this book. EVERSONG has dangerous situations, strong attractions, and magic mixed with some surprises. A story that will keep the reader wondering why the witches want the hero. Who makes up the mysterious group who are looking for alliances? A reissue with a new look but the first time this author has read the series and highly recommend that if you’re a fan of Donna Grant or are wanting to become a fan then this would be a great read to get into this author.
