Jack Reacher is at a sidewalk cafe in New York City, having a cup of coffee, when he watches a man get into a car and drive away. Just like that, Jack is sucked into a multiple kidnapping, drawn into a battle of wills with a group of mercenaries and, being the man that he is, must do everything he can to figure out what's really going on. The lives of a kidnapped woman and child depend on it.
Jack Reacher has never been in better form. Tough as nails, yet with a full heart and the in-your-face attitude he's famous for, Jack is back. And he means business. Thoroughly enjoyable, THE HARD WAY had me hooked from page one. As usual, Child's book made me think and had me, too, wondering what was really going on. A very good read.
