After her divorce, Ivy Perkins decided she wanted to move out of Atlanta and leave the memories behind. While looking online, she finds the perfect farmhouse by a small town in North Carolina. Throwing caution to the wind, Ivy buys The Four Roses farmhouse sight unseen. Upon arriving, she realizes she may have gotten in over her head. The first thing she sees is a sagging front porch, a front door with a trick lock, and a home full of furnishings she now has to sort through. Thankfully her real estate agent, and next-door neighbor, Ezra is there to lend a helping hand, along with some quirky townsfolk.

While Ivy is sorting through the top of her closet, she finds a box. In this box is a Santa suit, which has been wonderfully made and well worn. In the pocket, Ivy finds a note from a little girl to Santa. She wants her father to return home. This sends Ivy on a mission to find out if this little girl got her wish. As she digs into the past, her new home offers up some more clues, and her newfound friends come together to make this a Christmas to remember.

THE SANTA SUIT is the perfect book to remind us of the power of kindness and hope. This novella packs a punch of feel-good to get us all in Holiday spirit, which we could all use a good dose of any time of the year. The characters were all instantly relatable to. I loved Ivy’s strong-willed character. Even grieving her past life while starting a new one, she finds it within herself to move forward and help someone else do the same along the way. The setting is one straight out of a Hallmark movie. With its small-town charm and Holiday spirit, well, let’s just say I had to talk myself out of putting up my Christmas tree.

THE SANTA SUIT is the perfect novella to get us all in the spirit of the season of kindness and hope. One small act of kindness can lead to an avalanche of goodness in the most unexpected ways.
