DESPERATE MEASURES is the second book in the Men of Action Series which is a spin-off of the wonderful Granger Seriesabout the family patriarch Sheppard Granger who was wrongly put in prison for the murder of his wife and how his three sons - Jace, Caden, and Dalton spent their whole adult life trying to prove his innocence. Brenda Jackson did a wonderful job of introducing these characters and their personalities. Once Sheppard is proven innocent and released from prison he introduces us to Striker, Quasar, and Stonewall who are bodyguards in The Protector Series. These are limitless stories that can go on and on. Brenda Jackson always makes her characters interesting with endless possibilities. The two characters in DESPERATE MEASURES have strong personalities and they both have plans of how they will control things.
Dakota (Dak) Navarro is a wealthy entrepreneur, international playboy, and jet-setter who is used to getting what and whoever he wants. Two years ago when he attended his good friend Stonewall Courson’s wedding, he met Dr. Amelia Courson, who he has not been able to stop thinking about. Now he is attending another wedding with the hopes of seeing Amelia again. Dak is on a slippery slope in pursuing Amelia because she is the sister of his friend Stonewall. Dak has a reputation that Stonewall and his friends are very familiar with.
Dr. Amelia Courson has been busy taking care of everyone and not setting aside any time for herself. She feels that she is long overdue for a vacation and decides she wants to let go and get wild for once. She knows all about Dak’s "love-them-and-leave-them", "no-strings-attached" attitude, and feels that’s exactly what she is looking for.
Dak and Amelia both have their own idea of how they will control things but will both be surprisingly shocked when things do not turn out how they think they will. While they are enjoying what is supposed to be a week of unbridled passion they have an unknown enemy pursuing them with murder in mind.
DESPERATE MEASURES is a great story about another one of the Men of Action who meets his match.

Dr. Amelia Courson is a doctor who feels that lately she is taking care of everyone but herself. She is long overdue for a vacation and wants to let go and get wild. She has heard about Dak's "love-them-and-leave-the", "no-strings-attached" attitude, and since she is not looking for love either, Amelia feels Dak is just what this doctor orders.
Dak is a man of action and is ready to whisk Amelia away on his private jet to an exotic location...for R, R and R - rest, relaxation and rolling between the sheets.
What Dak does not count on is keeping them both alive when danger comes knocking at their door.
