Inspirational Romance | Romance Suspense

This action packed adventure follows a dedicated veterinarian who drops her Denver practice to help her sister, but runs into an unexpected world of trouble. Grace Porter drives to Blackberry Falls two hours from Denver, taking leave while Chloe goes through a divorce. She encounters ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE.

Police Chief Evan Bradshaw gets the call when Grace rings for aid. Chloe’s house is being burgled and her sister thinks she is in there alone. Grace bravely rushes in after the intruder, but seems Chloe was the target, not valuables. Evan and his crew arrive in time to see the man escaping and the hunt is futile; most of their effort is devoted to getting the seriously injured Chloe medical aid. With one sister in the hospital, the vet practice now depends on Grace rolling up her sleeves. But the masked criminal turns his attention to Grace, and he isn’t deterred by Evan’s guarding her.

Wow, this really is a crime a minute. The only breathers we get are when the clinic is ticking over normally and Evan brings picnics and his son Camden, all has left of his late wife. Once upon a time, Evan and Grace dated, but that was so long ago, and so much water flowed under the bridge. They’re cool with it. I like the story we get around Evan - he was an army brat, always on the move, and when his father retired and settled in this town, Evan just wanted to put down roots and stay.

The townsfolk are definitely good people. They care, they help, they know one another. On the other hand, we are presented with a plethora of suspects behind the shady events. They all deny involvement. As you would. We meet plenty of realistic animal characters, from a Great Dane to a Thoroughbred racehorse, and Grace comes across as a professional woman, not as a character with a job label.

Rhonda Starnes does a fantastic job of writing romantic suspense. This is her debut novel and I hope there will be many more where ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE came from, because I would definitely read them. This is a lightly inspirational tale, meaning the romance is suitable for any reader.
