BATTLE GROUND is book seventeen in the Dresden Files, featuring a badass wizard and the crazy Chicago that he lives in. When the entire city is on the verge of extinction, Harry must battle it out with a titan to save it. Sounds intense, right?

This book really packs a punch and Butcher doesn’t hold back when it comes to the intensity of this book. The opening chapter does take a little bit to get started, but once it does, the story flows like water. It’s an intense ride all the way through, so I think readers will need to come prepared. However, it was a really fun experience and definitely worth the wait.

If you’re new to Jim Butcher’s writing, then you can expect a lot of humorous dialogue and action-packed scenes. His imagination seems endless and I think that’s one of the reasons why this series can go on for so long without feeling stale. There are a lot of different paranormals in this series, which keeps things interesting and fun. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Urban Fantasy with a Fantasy or Science Fiction emphasis. It’s definitely one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series out there.
