Haley Shaw is the backbone of Black Crescent, Inc. Though the company's reputation was tarnished years ago when the CEO embezzled millions of dollars from the most prominent families in a New Jersey small-town, Haley stuck with the company and believed in the new CEO and did everything in her power to make sure the company could turn itself around. But now that her boss is leaving the company to focus on his new life and relationship, Haley is an integral part of the interview process for the new CEO. And the front runner, Chase Hargrove, is the one man she's not sure she can resist.
Ever since he started interviewing for the position of CEO of Black Crescent, Chase has enjoyed the time he gets to spend flirting with Haley before he heads into a meeting with the outgoing CEO. Chase wants the job, but not necessarily for the reasons one would expect. He's already a successful businessman, outrageously rich, and ready for another challenge. But instead of finding that challenge at work, Chase is finding it in Haley, who isn't so easily impressed by his usual charms. As he moves ahead with interviews, Chase isn't sure he wants to become Haley's boss. . . he wants to be something far more personal and important in her life.
The next chapter in the Dynasties: Seven Sins continuity series, HIDDEN AMBITION is an entertaining contemporary romance. Haley is hardworking, tenacious, knows she's usually right, and wants to prove to everyone she can be successful on her own terms. In addition to keeping Black Crescent running from behind the scenes, Haley also runs a charity that helps students in need get scholarships, which really added another dynamic to her character. Chase is a typical billionaire hero: flirtatious, very handsome, and he's always going after what he wants--be it a lucrative job or the woman he finds irresistible. Haley and Chase are quick to fall in love, but they work well together and have instant chemistry neither can deny. Some of the loose ends that have been brought up throughout this series continue to develop, but at this point, they are being dragged out far too long. That being said, Haley and Chase are two charming characters and their road to happy-ever-after is enjoyable.
