Late nights pouring over paperwork leads to the two of them getting to know each other, and they soon start a steamy relationship. While Quinn has never felt this way about any woman before, he knows he’s treading a thin line… and when his client reveals sensitive information that could change the direction of this case, he has to decide whether to follow his duty to his job or his heart that completely belongs to Sienna.
The second book in Kristen Proby’s Romancing Manhattan series, ALL IT TAKES is a fast-paced contemporary romance. The set up of this novel provides conflict but comes across as far-fetched. Sienna and Quinn have undeniable chemistry, but their attraction seemed superficial and developed a little too quickly into love. Additionally, the plot was predictable, though the comeuppance of certain characters was well-deserved and Sienna had a number of times to really stand up for what she believes in and defend her family. Some side characters - a flighty sister, a gay best friend, and a macho real estate CEO - were incredibly stereotypical and didn’t provide much to the plot. Even the two lead characters succumbed to antiquated expectations - she texts him drunk, and he shows up at her house in the middle of the night, or he gets jealous when a law clerk essentially glances in her direction (and many more situations like these). However, Sienna and Quinn do have many instances of what read like genuine connections, and their love story, although quick and unlikely, does have a satisfying ending. Characters from book one and a set up for at least one more book in the series make appearances.
