It's here where Miss Marion Greene realizes that she needs Frank's help. One of her friends hit her abusive husband over the head with a frying pan, killing him and is charged with murder. Marion charges into Frank's office demanding he represent her friend. Frank can't say no to Miss Greene and he doesn't want to. He doesn't care that she's spoken for, with an almost-fiance. waiting for her. He doesn't care that her father would never approve of a match between them. He simply knows that she's gotten under his skin and there's nothing he wouldn't do for her.
Set in the Gilded Age of New York Society, THE ROGUE OF FIFTH AVENUE is the start of a new series by Joanna Shupe. Historical romances set in New York are few and far between, so this series is a welcome change from the popular Regency England setting. Marion Greene is an amazing heroine. She's smart, strong, and funny. She's willing to sacrifice her happiness for her sisters' happiness. She helps the poor when other charities refuse to help them because of their religion. She's determined to make a difference in the world. While she does need Frank at times, she's no damsel in distress. The chemistry between Frank and Miss Greene sizzles. While in certain moments, Frank seduces the heroine, most of the time he waits for her to come to him giving her both respect and the power of the relationship. Readers will be eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
