SCREENSHOT is a young adult fiction novel written by Donna
Cooner. A story about the effects of posting something on
social media. Even if you delete that post, there is always
a digital footprint and a copy out there in the digital
world. Not to mention, anyone can screenshot the video or
picture and use that in a manner of their choosing.
Cooner touches many topics that surround us today throughout
this wonderfully written story. Social Media plays a big
role but you also get friendship, mystery, a hint of
romance, and betrayal. How would you react if a screenshot
of an embarrassing video that you are in gets out and
someone uses it to blackmail you? How would you handle that?
How would you respond?
SCREENSHOT is a young adult novel that has drama and mystery
intertwined into a story that many can relate to. A story
that is vividly realistic with characters that you could see
yourself being friends with or may remind you of one of your
friends. Cooner creates a world that is very relatable and
is easy to get drawn into a world that will leave you
speechless. You will find out a lot about yourself
(accepting your body), about your friends and about the real
digital world.
I was drawn in almost immediately and could not put this one
down until I finished. A story with many layers that slowly
come to light at just the right time to help reveal a story
that will catch you by surprise and leave you speechless. I
really enjoyed reading SCREENSHOT and recommend it to anyone
who loves to read young adult fiction with a mysterious
hidden twist.
Skye's social media game is always on point. Until her
best friend, Asha, films an embarrassing video of Skye at
a sleepover and posts it online. But Asha quickly deletes
the post, so everything's okay. Right?
Then Skye gets an anonymous message. Someone has texted
her a screenshot from the video. This person threatens to
share the shocking photo online . . . unless Skye does
whatever they say.
Skye's perfect image -- and privacy -- are suddenly in
jeopardy. What will Skye do to keep the screenshot under
wraps? And who is trying to ruin her life?
