Mr. Lemoncello's at it again; he's built another game. This one's based on research and discovering clues, a combination of using library skills with the Amazing Race. He's showing off the new exhibits for the library; these holograms will travel around North American libraries along with the game winners.

Kyle can't wait to compete in the games. After a stroke of luck propels him into the second round, he couldn't be more excited. Then Mr. Lemoncello pulls a switcheroo on partners and he's stuck with Abia. She's not happy being his partner either. In her opinion, Kyle always goes for the easy answers, not necessarily the right one. Kyle believes his new partner doesn't know how to have fun. Together they persevere, attempting to gather the clues quickly, solve the puzzles, and correctly research their final answer. But the game comes to a screeching halt when Mr. Lemoncello's accused of stealing his competition's game -- the game that made him a legend. Kyle knows that Mr. Lemoncello would never steal someone else's work and he's willing to prove it. Realizing clearing his idol's name is more important, Kyle teams up with his friends to uncover the truth.

MR. LEMONCELLO'S GREAT LIBRARY RACE by Chris Grabenstein captures the hearts of readers. While the third book in the series brings the focus back to libraries and research, it's the truth behind Mr. Lemoncello's past that makes the book hard to put down with the action and the race against the clock. Teamwork, doing your research, and not always taking the easy road all play a significant part of the story. The book also highlights famous people who failed miserably but kept trying until they succeeded; something Chris Grabenstein understands well.

* In the back of the book, there's also a list of books mentioned in the novel for those interested in reading them.
