RIGHT KIND OF RECKLESS is the second book in the Reckless Hearts series by Heather Van Fleet. You will need a big box of tissues when you read this because it is the kind of story that will take you on a wild roller coaster of emotions!
I was instantly drawn into this remarkable love story of two people finding their way back to each other. Page after page you will experience humor, romance, and crazy family drama as you read Max and Lia's story. I enjoyed reading about Lia because the author portrayed her character as a strong independent woman who once she sets her mind to do something she will not let anyone or anything stand in her way. Max is the perfect gentleman who knows how to step aside and let Lia control her own life by giving her space to just be herself.
I do wish that the author would have created a little bit of a backstory for Lia. I feel that it would help to explain why she is the way she is today because of her past. While this is the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. This book shares the story of two different main characters than the first book. Van Fleet really has a way with writing a love story that is truly remarkable and vividly realistic. The characters she created are unique in their own way and not easy to forget. She writes them in a way that everyone can relate to or understand their pain, heartache, hope, and love.
RIGHT KIND OF RECKLESS is an amazing story of second chances that will leave you wanting more and impatiently wanting for the next book in the Reckless Hearts series. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good contemporary romance.
Maxwell Martinez
I'm in love with a woman I can't have, and there's
absolutely nothing I can do to stop myself from falling.
The problem? Her brother's my best friend.
I shouldn't want her this much. Not when it goes against the
bro code. Not when I've never been able to commit to a woman
for longer than a night.
But one look into her eyes and I'm a mess for her. She's my
everything. And I have to walk away with nothing.
