CAUGHT BY THE SCOT is a fabulously witty and irresistibly sexy Scottish historical romance from New York Times bestseller Karen Hawkins. Fans of Julia Quinn, Monica McCarty, and Julie Garwood will be won over by the spellbinding Made to Marry series.
I really enjoyed reading CAUGHT BY THE SCOT and feel it is the perfect book to enjoy with a hot cup of tea while snuggled in a warm blanket. Hawkins has written another witty and charming romantic story that will melt your heart leaving you with a warm fuzzy feeling.
The story begins when Connor and his brothers go visit their sister who is expecting a baby. When they arrive, they discover that their sister has passed away while giving birth leaving her husband and infant son behind. They are all upset and heartbroken. This is when their brother-in-law tells them of their sister's wishes. She wants all of them to find a bride within three months or they will lose their inheritance. If they do not find a bride then their inheritance will go to their enemies, a fellow clan. This makes all of them furious.
Connor soon thinks of one woman he could marry, a girl he grew up with that is the sister of his closest friend. He knows she is a spinster and knows she will be grateful for his offer. However, when he arrives at her home, he quickly learns that she has eloped with a farmer. That is when he chases after them. Thea is in love with Connor but she never gets to see him so when Lance shows up telling her he loves her she agrees to marry him. Soon she realizes that Lance does not see her has a woman but as a spinster. This is where all the drama begins.
Karen Hawkins really writes with lots of emotion. There is a mesh of truly deep feelings with enough lightheartedness and characters buildup that will leave you wanting more.
