It is very difficult to summarize one of Amanda Bouchet's, books because so much wonder and excitement is going on in her world. BREATH OF FIRE is one of those books that if someone tells you to read it, you should just listen. But I will try to summarize. Cat and Griffin are now a couple, she believes their love is strong and unbreakable. If it can overcome her secrets, it should be strong enough for anything they have to face. She is the oldest heir to the most powerful and dangerous empire whose ruler she fears. Her mother will stop at nothing to get her and place her under her control. Her mother spent years torturing her in an attempt to mold her into her way of ruling. Only Cat's escape prevented her from breaking.

As Cat and Griffin's love brings them together they are determined to bring the separate empires together under them and free people from the evil of their rulers. The battles that lead them to their next empire are exciting and deadly.

BREATH OF FIRE is book two in the The Kingmaker Chronicles. The team of characters lead by Cat and Griffin are just awesome. There is action, adventure, love and loyalty. Cat and Griffin both overcome much to be where they are in life and their determination to bring about positive change in a dangerous world, is honorable.

Amanda Bouchet started this series with a real hit and has continued to write a wonderful story line. Her world building is amazing and you are drawn right in and don't leave even when you put the book down. Some authors can never get it just right but Amanda Bouchet has from the start. I am so excited to read what she puts out next. These characters, this world are worthy of being followed and read.
