JUST WHAT I NEEDED is the first installment to Lorelei James' Need You series. This book features Trinity Carlson and Walker Lund. When a bad day brings Trinity to a dive bar, all she can think about I how her recent ex and his new girlfriend are sitting just a few feet from her. It's like she can't catch a break, so to turn her luck around she catches the attention of a complete stranger and kisses the life out of him.
Now if you've read Lorelei James before than this type of behavior isn't very out there for her heroines. They all tend to be a little feisty, a little forward, but Trinity is definitely one of her more spunky heroines. Of course, now that Walker has had a taste of Trinity, he won't let her walk away that easily.
Again, Lorelei James sticks to what she is good at. There is a lot of flirty, easy banter between the hero and the heroine, but for me something about it seemed forced. It didn't have the usual flow as the other author's books do and to be honest, I thought some of the lines used were kind of cheesy. But if you're okay with silly flirting then you'll probably fall fast for Walker and Trinity.
I still prefer a third person POV from James. The first person narrative in this series just doesn't flow as well for me so I find it harder to get into these stories. But if you are looking for something on the more sweet and sexy side, this is a good series to check out.
