Jordan's Return

Romance Contemporary

JORDAN'S RETURN is a reprint of the first book written by Samantha Chase and I can see why she is a best-selling author. This is a story about how two people get a second chance to make things right. It's filled with emotion, insecurity, stubbornness, and a mother's undying love. I found Ms. Chase's view of how this single mother deals and dealt with the circumstances of her life to be spot on. Not only has this mother suffered but her two young sons suffered along with her and have emotional scars. She naively trusted her psychotic ex-husband and she almost lost her life. The two young boys in the story are adorable. The emotional pain they go through because of neglect from their father is so real. We know that kids are resilient but it's still painful when you watch them suffer.

Jordan Manning is slowly recovering from a near fatal accident and an abusive relationship. Her two sons also suffered through this abuse. Jordan decides she and her boys need some time away together to find a new direction for their family. On their summer destination she runs into the first man she fell in love with who also broke her heart when they were teenagers.

It's been fourteen years since Rob Tyler has seen Jordan. He thought he had moved on after losing Jordan because of an immature mistake he made all those years before. But seeing Jordan he realizes he never got over her. But convincing Jordan that they belong together is harder than he expected. He is drawn to her two boys and they are drawn to him. It's understandable that Jordan is afraid to take a chance. The verbal and mental abuse she went through with her ex has made her insecure and unsure of herself. So of course she finds it hard to trust herself to make good decisions. Rob knows what he wants and has basically been waiting all this time for a second chance. But he also needs to look at things from Jordan's viewpoint -- consider what she has been through.

JORDAN'S RETURN is a great story about forgiveness, healing, trust and taking a chance on love again.
