THE QUEEN opens up in the present with Soren and Nora at a wedding. The story then flashes back to the time in Nora's life when she thought about not returning to Soren. It is in this time that we learn about her return to New York from her year long exile in the convent, when Nora was known as Eleanor Schreiber. She was broke, had no job, and would have been homeless if Kingsley hadn't allowed her to stay at his home. But Kingsley saw something in Eleanor very few saw...a dominatrix and offers Eleanor something she just can't refuse. With the help of Kingsley, Eleanor transforms herself into Mistress Nora, the Red Queen.
Within two years Mistress Nora has wiped away her rival, has her own money, her own house, and has been published as an erotica writer. However Nora is tempted time and time again by Soren. The only man who refuses to bend to her will. It isn't until Soren volunteers for a church assignment, which will take him into a dangerous country, that Nora and Kingsley both risk losing him forever. Will Nora give up everything she has worked so hard to build or will she let him walk away from her. More importantly, can Nora and Kingsley live without their priest?
THE QUEEN is the final installment in the Original Sinners series. This series is broken up into two parts. The White Years Quartet (books 5-8) and the Red Years Quartet (books 1-4). It is recommended that you read the Red Years first. The Original Sinners series is the love story involving a bunch of unlikely characters who test the boundaries in each other. All the characters are interconnected in a way that makes them an unconventional type of family. Each path taken in each of their lives has ultimately lead them to this point or back to who and where they belong.
Tiffany Reisz's writing is one of the best. She constructs more than a simple cast of characters. Each character is multi-layered and complex. Ms Reisz has given us an entire community of people who come from all backgrounds, good histories and bad histories. She allows the reader to fall completely in love with each and every one. There is nothing published that compares to the world Tiffany Reisz has built with this series. She is one of my go to authors I just can't seem to get enough of.
