THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM is the follow-up story to EVERYTHING I
LEFT UNSAID which you should read first. The first book ended with the
cliffhanger of Annie
McKay's abusive husband showing up at the trailer park where
she escaped to. Both of these stories deal with domestic
abuse, violence and sexual awareness. There are some intense
situations with heart-pounding outcomes.
Annie McKay ends up at a run down trailer park where she tries
to escape from her abusive husband. She answers a cell phone
that she finds in the trailer. That is how she meets Dylan
Daniels and they begin to engage in phone sex. They finally
meet face to face and learn about each other's secrets. Annie
has to deal with her past when her abusive husband finds her
and there are deadly consequences. Dylan will also have to
deal with his past when he finally tells Annie about what led to it. Annie will also
help Dylan mend fences
regarding his family.
Even though Annie comes from an abusive situation she has a
kind, open heart and willingly helps others who need it. She
has an amazing, generous spirit when you realize all that she
has been through. Dylan comes from a violent past but with
Annie's help he finds a way to open his heart and heal in the
process.
THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM is a gritty story with heart rending
situations but if you keep reading you get to see hope and
healing. This is a beauty and the beast story where the beast
is frightening by appearance but a beauty shows up and softens
and smooths out the rough edges. M. O'Keefe does an excellent
job of pulling you into this story.
For fans of Christina Lauren and Jodi Ellen Malpas comes the
next novel in M. O’Keefe’s breathtakingly sexy series about
a woman called into a journey of the heart, body, and soul.
We played our roles, told each other lies.
But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on
the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our
relationship is very, very real.
We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:
The thrilling danger.
The raw, naked desire.
The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.
Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he
can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me.
Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.
