Nate Gallagher is a cop who works hard to keep people safe, even though his personal life suffers. With no girlfriend and parents who are angry with him most of the time because he is never around, his younger sister Molly is the only one who is happy to be around him. But when Nate stops into the local store one night and must come to the rescue of the beautiful night clerk, his life becomes a lot more complicated. For Fiona stirs feelings inside him that he cannot ignore, and he feels the need to become her protector and so much more. Fiona Sanders is used to being alone, ever since her mother passed away. Studying during the day and working in the store at night, Fiona hopes that observing other night shift workers will help further her academic work. But when she is robbed at gunpoint, her life takes a sharp turn. Rescued by the sexy Nate, friendship soon becomes something more. But when Fiona is targeted again it is too much of a coincidence, and they must discover who is after Fiona and why. KILLER SEASON by Lara Lacombe is an enjoyable romantic suspense, with plenty of danger and spice to keep a reader happy. Fiona and Nate are both tough characters who are used to being alone, and it was lovely to watch their connection grow and blossom. All in all, KILLER SEASON by Lara Lacombe is definitely worth a read.
