I've been waiting forever for REAP THE WIND to release. As book seven in the Cassandra Palmer series, Karen Chance keeps readers right on the precipice of anticipation with this book!
Throwing readers right back into the action with Cassandra and her friends, this is definitely a series I think works best if you have read the other books first. As Chance doesn't waste any time rehashing previous events, you'll get a better reading experience if you read in order. That being said, Cassie gets herself into a difficult mess in REAP THE WIND when she has to rescue her friend John Pritkin. Easier said than done since he is currently lost through time. Despite the new powers she has gained, she still remains the same old girl that we love. Highly relatable, I love the fact that despite Cassie might be entirely supernatural, the character traits she has makes her very down to earth.
An important feature of this series has always been the humor. There aren't many urban fantasy series that can make me laugh as much as this one. I find the lighter tone allows readers to enjoy the ride even more, and Chance hits the spot every time without going over the top. If you're a fan of Darynda Jones's Charley Davidson series, then you'll find plenty to love about Cassie as well.
At over 400 pages, this is a monster of a book but have no worries. Despite its bulk, each word packs a punch! Karen Chance definitely outdid herself with REAP THE WIND and now cements herself as one of my favorite authors in the genre.
