Chloe Tally is shy by nature. When her sister died in a car
accident that left her brother with burns and scars, it tore
her family apart. She feel it should have been her in the accident, not her fun-
loving, outgoing sister, who was the glue that held their family
together. Since her parents blame her brother for the
accident, it has divided the family and Chloe
is what is in the middle, trying to keep it mended. So
Chloe uses cosplay as a shield. Hiding her true self behind
her character, she is able to step away from the dorky,
awkward, broken girl she normally is and indulge in a little
fun.
Chloe attends a Comic Con in her favorite Sari costume. In
costume she is a sexy, confident woman that lands a
night with a handsome Breck character of her dreams. The role-playing sex in
his motel has Chloe wanting more, but fleeing
before the handsome stranger finds out the type of person
she is without the costume.
Grant Osprey, owner of Gamer's Magazine still can't get the
nameless sexy vixen that rocked his world out of his head.
He was disappointed when she left without a good bye, let
alone her name or the exchange of numbers. He certainly
didn't expect to see her again at a business lunch with his
best friend and new partner Ethan, who introduces her as
his little sister.
Chloe is nothing like the confident and sexy Sari character
he remembered from their mind blowing night when they meet
again. Grant takes the opportunity when they are left along
to tell Chloe he certainly remembers her, and that he wants
more of her. However each secret encounter with her has her
hiding behind costumes brings him closer to falling for her
and her closer to revealing her true self to him.
Realizing Chloe will only come out of her shell if she
can role play, Grant tries to draw her out to
reveal the woman he knows she truly is, and not the one she
sees herself as. Can Grant convince her that he wants what
it is she keeps hidden under the fancy costumes, or will
Grant scare her away forever?
PLAYING FOR HER HEART is book two in the Gamers series by
Megan Erickson. It can be read as a standalone since it focuses solely on Grant
and Chloe. This book is an
easy-going, fun, sexy read. Megan Erickson definitely has a
diverse imagination when it comes to writing some pretty
stellar sex scenes between these two. I found myself
devouring and completely enjoying Grant's easy-going and
joking personality. Chloe was a great heroine. I loved
that she was shy and a bit insecure, but also found a way to
let herself out in a way that worked for her. I truly
enjoyed this story. It has great characters, and I cannot
wait to see what Megan Erickson has in store for the rest of
this series!
