Vanessa Hewitt met John Campbell one fateful night when she lost her job and felt down. When this hot man saves her, mistakenly thinking she is committing suicide, all she can think about is letting her inhabitations loose. After all, she never had a one night stand. Why not with someone who is passing by and whose kisses are amazing. What she did not expect was sizzling chemistry and unable to forget him even after three months.
John met Vanessa when he felt at his lowest and darkest after his last tour to Afghanistan. Running from demons, guilt weighing heavily, all he is doing is surviving till that one night this gorgeous woman brought light to his darkness. Unable to forget her and the connection he hadn't felt ever, John is back in town for his sister's engagement and looking up the woman who he craves still.
What both did not expect was that he is Vanessa's best friend's younger brother. While John is still willing to pursue and explore the connection between them, Vanessa does not want to hurt Jess, who will feel icky for her friend to hook up with her baby brother. Will they both get past it and give in or will John leave again?
KISSING MR. WRONG sizzles from the very beginning with an amazing chemistry between the H/h. The one night stand is hot and believable and so is the connection. But this is not all about sex. When it gets to the emotional stuff, the heart of John, a soldier, it will break yours. Loved how sensitively Ms. Carpenter showed it and how Vanessa handled it. I also appreciated how she focused on the importance of family.
KISSING MR. WRONG was a quick read but Ms. Carpenter managed to beautifully show us not only the chemistry and connection between John and Vanessa, but the relationship between the siblings, the best friends, the meaning of family, and how life not only affects a soldier but the family as well. The essence of a soldier. KISSING MR. WRONG is a short, sizzling, emotionally satisfying complete read. Not to be missed.
