WILDFIRE IN HIS ARMS is the second book in a new wild west series by Johanna Lindsey, before I started to read the book I thought it was a stand-alone novel, of course it can be read as a stand-alone, but Degan is the secondary character in One Heart to Win.

In WILDFIRE IN HIS ARMS we meet characters from the previous book. Degan Grant is a dangerous and mysterious peacemaker who has been working for Callahan family, the family in One Heart to Win for some time.

There has been a feud between Callahan and Warren families for a long time, now the marriage of the Callahan son and Warren's daughter has ended the bloodshed Degan is traveling to California, even though he really likes Callahan's family and the people in Nashart.

On his way he meets the US Marshall who saved his life before. He needs to return the favor by catching three outlaws on the Marshall's list and turn them over to law. It seems an easy job until he catches one of the outlaws Maxine Dawson.

Maxine is beautiful, brave and wanted for a murder and bank robbery. She has been dressing as a boy and hiding from the law by traveling as a boy for most of the past two years. Now not only has the handsome and dangerous Degan arrested Max, but also has figured out that she is a girl not a boy.

Degan needs to decide if Max is telling the truth and is innocencent or turn her over to the sheriff and be done with her.

I love Johanna Lindsey's books; her writing is magnificent and captivating, her stories are fast paced and delightful. WILDFIRE IN HIS ARMS is another story with secrets, danger, mystery, and Passion.

I highly recommend this wild west romance that kept me entertained throughout the whole story.
