The setting is Mexico and our intrepid heroine is Maren Janson, a blonde German journalist at tabloid magazine Flash. She has been sent to Mexico to get into a glamorous party and write a profile of a wealthy businessman's mysterious son. Only, nobody in her media world knows what the young man looks like, and aside from that she doesn't have an invitation. Press won't be welcome. Should she persevere given the heat and humidity?
KINKY IN CANCUN is actually a fun short story as we watch Maren face up to the challenges on the way to getting her story. I definitely don't advise doing what she does to get into the party, and it's hard to admire a woman who uses her body as barter. Once in, of course Maren has to fit in with the guests, and try to identify the target.
I enjoyed the scene in a limestone cavern partly filled with water, called a cenote. The story has been building up to this setting and the descriptions are beautiful. As to whether Maren gets her man, and what she might do with him if she did, I'll leave you to find out for yourself.
Karyna Leon has written several sexy modern stories in German, and this translation reads perfectly so I wouldn't hesitate to read more. KINKY IN CANCUN isn't so much kinky as promiscuous and should be taken as a fun contemporary erotic fantasy.
