"Sexy thriller with a dangerous bad boy and undercover cop"

Fresh Fiction Review

Risking it All

Romance Contemporary | Romance Suspense

When a ruthless mob leader killed Sera's brother, she vows justice. As an undercover cop with the NYPD, she is determined to find evidence that will take his killer down. Bowen is working undercover too, only he's working for law immunity and family protection. When the two collide, both fall dangerously in love in the middle of a vengeful mob showdown.

Tessa Bailey nails another romance with RISKING IT ALL. She masters the fears and thrills of finding and executing justice in an underbelly of danger while combining the searing heat of a romance that seems impossible to end well. The plot is exciting and daring, full of perfected nuances that carry the reader through twists and turns.

Sera and Bowen are beautifully crafted characters. I love Sera's fierceness, and Bowen's cheeky humor is hilarious. On a deeper level, both grow wonderfully, although once you come to love them, their fall backs and weak moments are painful to read (in the best way). Both face heavy issues with their families, and they deal with them (or not) realistically. One of my favorite parts of this novel is when the two realize they might make a good family as a couple. Their sexual chemistry explodes on the page, as anything written by Tessa Bailey will, and every physical encounter they have feels fresh, exciting, and brimming with emotional outpour.

Romance readers should stock up on Tessa Bailey's novels. RISKING IT ALL is another brilliant, romantic suspense addition to her body of work. Sera and Bowen will take your heart through the ringer, and you will love them all the more for it by the end. I can't recommend this enough for readers who like their couples with a healthy side of crime fighting action.

SUMMARY

She’s gone rogue.

Seraphina Newsom isn't looking for vengeance…she wants justice. Three years ago, Sera's brother was ruthlessly gunned down by one of Brooklyn’s most dangerous mob kingpins. The investigation has stalled out, deemed “too dangerous” by the police commissioner. So to track down the evidence she needs to take down her brother’s killer, Sera turns in her hospital scrubs, joins the NYPD, and goes undercover. Unsanctioned. Alone.

He’ll live to keep her safe.

With his father behind bars, Bowen Driscol has reluctantly taken over his family’s sprawling South Brooklyn crime operation. New York's finest have other plans. By threatening the safety of his sister, they “convince” Bowen to extricate a rogue cop who’s in over her head. But when he meets Sera and feels that deep, damning shiver of desire course through him, Bowen knows there's only one way to keep her safe without blowing either of their covers…by claiming her as his own.
