Ella Morgan is the new girl in the small town of
Whistlestop,
New Mexico. Having inherited a run down cabin in the
woods,
Ella is happy to have a new start and a clean slate in a
place
where nobody knows her. Temporarily working as a teacher,
she
hopes to procure a full time position, and become a
permanent
fixture in this beautiful place.
With one act of kindness
Ella is thrown into the path of Tony Granger, firefighter,
rancher, and the most gorgeous man she has ever set eyes
on.
Ella has a secret past that she will do anything to keep
hidden.
Tony is struggling with his new position as a parent to
his
nephew, Johnny. Having lost his brother and sister-in-law,
Tony stepped up to fill their role, but he is lost. When
Ella
needs money to fix up her home, Tony offers to be her
partner
for Dancing with the Firefighters which comes with a cash
prize, in return for tutoring Johnny. As a business
arrangement leads to friendship and an intense attraction,
both Ella and Tony struggle with their pasts, and as a
wildfire threatens everyone in Whistlestop, will Ella's
new
life go up in flames?
A MOMENT TO DANCE by Jennifer Faye is an engaging,
contemporary romance that ticks all of the boxes. Ella is
deeply damaged by her past and has spent all of her life
dealing with guilt and hiding her scars, both inside and
out.
Tony has also suffered pain in his life and does not want
to
be attracted to Ella. I fell in love with both characters
as
they tried to weave their way through all of their issues.
With plenty of action and secondary characters that add
lots
of flavour, the storyline flowed naturally and at a good
pace.
I thoroughly enjoyed A MOMENT TO DANCE by Jennifer Faye
and
would highly recommend it.
When trouble strikes…Whistle Stop pulls together
For Ella Morgan, moving to Whistle Stop is a chance to
start
over, put her horrific past behind her. But now she’s
living in a mountain cabin—in dire need of renovation—that
her grandmother left her, along with a sizable tax bill.
Her
job teaching school isn’t going to cover it. She needs
cash, and soon.
Volunteer firefighter Tony Granger has returned to Whistle
Stop to run the family ranch and be guardian to his
orphaned
nephew, Johnny. But being a single parent isn’t coming
easy, and he’s worried sick he won’t succeed with his plan
to adopt the boy, especially if Johnny’s grades don’t
improve. He needs a break, and fast.
When Ella finds out Tony doesn’t have a partner for the
Dancing With the Firefighters’ benefit—which is offering a
large cash prize—and he hits upon hiring her as Johnny’s
tutor, it looks like their problems might be solved. But
taking dance lessons to win the competition sets alight a
burning attraction between them. Can they let go and learn
to trust again, or will the scars of their pasts still
haunt
them?
