Sia O'Donnell loves being a tattoo artist and watching secret underground MMA matches. Those matches are where she goes to find The Predator, aka Ray, a haunted and fierce fighter. When the two finally talk, sparks ignite. As both of them push each other from their comfort zones and fight against pasts whose ghosts are still present, they will have to learn to trust each other if they want to be together.
FULL CONTACT is an emotional thrill ride of a romance from the beginning. Sia is a great protagonist, both full of depth and full of room to develop. Ray complements her with his own dynamic characterization, and the heat between the two of them is enough to sear the pages. Many of the secondary characters are nicely fleshed out as well with some returning from previous Sarah Castille works.
As much as I enjoyed the characters, the dialogue feels a bit unnatural in areas. The twist towards the end with Sia and Ray also feels a little out of place and random. Their story arc flows so well beforehand that one of their last surprises doesn't seem to fit. However, the ending does wrap up many of the burning questions going on during the story and leaves a few hints of potential characters who might get their own story soon.
All in all, FULL CONTACT is a highly enjoyable romance with deep characters and sexual chemistry that will have readers quickly turning the pages. Though there were parts I didn't love, I would definitely still recommend this for romance readers looking for a book with edge. I can't wait to see what Sarah Castille writes next.
