Lady Rosalyn Carmichael is a woman with secret desires -- a woman living private fantasies in a dream she's been having for many years. Rosalyn is waiting for him -- the one. She knows what he looks like, the man who'll walk out of her dreams and into her life, the only man she'll grant her virginity.
Rosalyn's deceitful stepbrother is stalking her. His twisted plot is to marry her, then do away with her, so he can gain her inheritance, the one he feels is rightfully his. One kidnapping attempt has already failed, with the safety of the people she cares for so deeply being severely jeopardized. Maybe Rosalyn should just surrender to him and keep her loved ones safe. Rosalyn knows he won't give up until he has her exactly where he wants her.
Laird Derek Hardwicke must take a Scottish bride in order to keep peace within his clan. But one look at Lady Rosalyn in London, as he rescues her from her evil stepbrother's latest kidnapping attempt, and Derek's life is changed forever. He sweeps her off to his remote castle in Scotland and vows to keep her hidden and safe.
Derek is Rosalyn's dream man, who's walked out of her fantasy and into her heart. He's a man of honor and strength, a leader in every way. She wants him with every fiber of her being. Rosalyn also understands his need for a Scottish wife, but her feelings are so strong, so powerful, she's willing to be his mistress, just to have him.
Derek never believed in such a thing as a soul mate. But Rosalyn is coming to mean more and more to him each day, and his mind and heart are always filled with thoughts of her. Rosalyn has filled the empty space in his heart. He burns for her; they burn for each other.
Melanie George, a great storyteller, never disappoints readers, and THE HIGHLANDER'S STOLEN BRIDE is no exception. This story takes us on a beautiful and exquisite romantic journey wrought with suspense, intrigue and passion -- and provides a great surprise ending. The dialogue is masterful, as always -- witty, clever and sensual. What a joy to read this treasure.
