Brash attorney Steve Solomon has met his match in Victoria
Lord, a straight-laced, by-the-book attorney. Getting her
fired from her job as a prosecutor, Steve offers Victoria a
partnership both professionally and personally. When she
accepts both, he's amazed. Their opposing personalities
work well in the courtroom with Steve always fighting for
the little guy.
Their first big case involves Victoria's uncle, who's
charged with murder, and it presents them with major
obstacles. A yacht with Uncle Griffin and a dying man with
a fishing spear in his chest crash upon the beach with no
other occupants. Uncle Griffin swears he's innocent of this
crime.
Delving into the murder brings old family secrets to the
forefront. Steve struggles with his own problems with his
disbarred father, as he watches Victoria trying to cope
with family and a sexy ex-boyfriend, who wishes to remove
the ex- from his title. As the case heats up, more off-beat
characters arrive, and the trail to the killer gets
murkier. Attempts are made on Victoria and Steve's lives as
they untangle the mystery.
Courtroom drama has never been this much fun. A cross
between Moonlighting and Night Court, DEEP
BLUE ALIBI takes off with crisp writing and sharp dialogue
that will delight readers. Levine captures the essence of
the Key West characters at their quirkiest and gives the
added bonus of a solid mystery. I loved it!
