Suspense

Brash attorney Steve Solomon has met his match in Victoria Lord, a straight-laced, by-the-book attorney. Getting her fired from her job as a prosecutor, Steve offers Victoria a partnership both professionally and personally. When she accepts both, he's amazed. Their opposing personalities work well in the courtroom with Steve always fighting for the little guy.

Their first big case involves Victoria's uncle, who's charged with murder, and it presents them with major obstacles. A yacht with Uncle Griffin and a dying man with a fishing spear in his chest crash upon the beach with no other occupants. Uncle Griffin swears he's innocent of this crime.

Delving into the murder brings old family secrets to the forefront. Steve struggles with his own problems with his disbarred father, as he watches Victoria trying to cope with family and a sexy ex-boyfriend, who wishes to remove the ex- from his title. As the case heats up, more off-beat characters arrive, and the trail to the killer gets murkier. Attempts are made on Victoria and Steve's lives as they untangle the mystery.

Courtroom drama has never been this much fun. A cross between Moonlighting and Night Court, DEEP BLUE ALIBI takes off with crisp writing and sharp dialogue that will delight readers. Levine captures the essence of the Key West characters at their quirkiest and gives the added bonus of a solid mystery. I loved it!

SUMMARY

They are Florida’s most mismatched legal duo—one a glamorous Miami blue blood, the other a Coconut Grove beach bum. And when they get together, you can throw every law right out the window….

What do you get when you mix beautiful people, family secrets, and a yacht washed up on Sunset Key with a hundred grand in cash and a dying man? If you’re Steve Solomon, you see a case that can get Solomon & Lord off the ground. If you’re Victoria Lord, you see a golden opportunity to go out on your own. With her uncle a murder suspect and her hunky ex-boyfriend back in the picture, Victoria is pushing to take control as Solomon struggles to keep from losing it.

As an explosive trial looms, they’re fighting against time, the law, and each other—to expose a killer who came to paradise…and hasn’t left.
