Romance

The exotic setting of South America brings us this sizzling romance. A charity worker called Serena DePiero has flown in to Rio but only now discovers that the aid organisation is run by an old acquaintance, Luca Fonseca. Committed to her ideals, Serena wants to work - despite the possibility of FONSECA'S FURY.

Serena has had a giddy youth. Her wealthy family enabled her partying across Europe and she never had to think about other people. Now she's grown up enough to want to earn her own way and commit to a good cause. Fonseca, who equally partied hard, was caught with drugs in his pocket during a nightclub raid in Italy. He knew they weren't his, and he blamed the stunning girl who'd been dancing with him when the police arrived. Serena once more protests her innocence in all good faith, but the man has no reason to believe her. He wants her on the next plane home.

Well, if Serena is fired, there is no reason why she shouldn't stay on and sightsee. However the cheap hotel she picks is near a dangerous part of Rio, and a girl alone is vulnerable. When Fonseca finds out, his sense of responsibility drives him to find her. Sparks are flying between these two determined people and neither of them wants to back down to the other.

I enjoyed the action once the story really gets going. Offices and hotels we can find in any book, but Fonseca runs an ethical mining firm with the co-operation of a tribe living on the Amazon. Someone is going to exploit the bauxite resources, and he tries to see that it is done fairly to the local community, repairing damage to the rainforests. A flight, jeep trek and two-day hike later, our characters have a lot more respect for each other and for the jungle environment. Can they square their differences though? That's a bigger question.

There's adult activity in the steamy heat of Brazil, the hum of insects and birdcalls, and the musical language of Portuguese on Ipanema Beach. For a story of new beginnings, of overcoming the past and finding the truth in nature's paradise, try Abby Green's romance FONSECA'S FURY. This tale is packed with atmosphere, location and in the end, doing what is right.

SUMMARY

It's hot in the jungle…

The last time Luca Fonseca saw Serena DePiero, he ended up in a jail cell. The Brazilian billionaire has since clawed back his reputation, but he's never forgotten her. So when Luca discovers Serena's working for his charity, his anger reignites!

Serena has changed. Finally in control of her life, she refuses to let Luca intimidate her. She'll deal with whatever her new boss throws at her—from a rain-forest trek to the social jungle of Rio! But she can't handle the passion that flares hotter than Luca's fury.

Especially when it threatens to consume them both!
