Ava Trumble has just lost her Aunt and now faces the possibility that she may lose her wonderful, albeit haunted, home on the cliffside in the small town of Kerrick, Maine. Ava has plans to turn Trumble Mansion into a B&B, but when a strange stipulation on her Aunt's will comes to light, Ava's future is in jeopardy. She has one year to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of Sarah Kerrick, which occurred over two hundred years ago. Simple, right?
Jackson Granger is intrigued to finally get inside Trumble Mansion. Working as the lead investigator for the TV show Phantoms, it will be great for his career. But Jackson has a personal connection to the house as he is a distant relative of Sarah Kerrick. Unsatisfied and unsure about his own future, Jackson is searching for the missing part of his life, and is shocked at the immediate sense of home and peace that he feels when he arrives at the house.
This sense is only strengthened when he is around Ava, and the attraction and depth of feeling that erupts between them, are out of this world. But the spirits will not be ignored and the closer Ava and Jackson become, the more disruptive and challenging they are.
As Ava fights to keep her home, she finds herself losing her heart. But Ava is used to being alone and struggles with her relationship with Jackson. Will Ava unravel the mystery surrounding her and Jackson's ancestors in time? And what will happen when it is time for Jackson to move on to the next project and leave her behind?
I love, love, love GHOST OF A PROMISE by Kelly Moran. The relationship between Ava and Jackson is electrifying and I became really invested in their past and present, and hoped that they would have a future together. The echoing story of Peter and Sarah was heart breaking, and I enjoyed seeing the mystery unravel before my eyes. Every character in the story added that little something extra to the overall plot, and I devoured GHOST OF A PROMISE by Kelly Moran, in one sitting. A truly addictive read.
