It has been almost a decade since Ash Mackenzie left his
family ranch. He could no longer take his father's
criticism. He left behind his family and friends. He left
without saying a word to his girlfriend, Brenna Crane. He
wants to prove to himself and most of all his father that
he can make it on his own. When Ash receives word that his
father has been murdered he rushes to get back home to the
family he left all those years ago. Ash soon realizes how
much he has missed his family, the town, and most of all
Brenna Crane.
Brenna remembers the heartache she felt when Ash left town
without a word. He was her everything and it hurt deeply
when he left. She tried to get on with her life, but when
she and Ash bump into each other years later all those
feelings that she pushed away come racing back. Will she
risk her heart again on Ash? Can Ash find out who would
want to kill his father?
This plot grabbed me from page one. I could not get enough
of THE MAVERICK OF COPPER CREEK. I would sit down thinking
I would only read a
couple of chapters, but the writing is so amazing that I
would sit for hours flipping through chapter after chapter
trying to figure out who had killed the beloved rancher.
The characters are perfect. I fell in love with all of
them
and all of them played an important role in the story
line.
My favorite has to be Brenna. Brenna Crane is tuff as
nails
and ready to take on anything that stands in her way. She
has had to go through a lot in her life and I think that
is
why I connected with her from the start. The romance part
is spot on. The chemistry between Ash MacKenzie and Brenna
Crane is great. You can't help but root for the couple to
reconnect.
THE MAVERICK OF COPPER CREEK is the first book in R.C.
Ryan's Copper Creek Cowboys series. This was the
first book
that I have read from R.C. Ryan and will certainly won't
be
the last. I can't wait for the next installment in the
series. The Rebel of Copper Creek is Griff's story.
THE MAVERICK OF COPPER CREEK has it all, a murder mystery,
action, romance, a
fun loving family that you can't help but love, and most
of
all sexy as hell cowboys. What's not to love right?
Ash MacKenzie
broke his share of hearts when he left Copper Creek all
those years ago and struck out on his own. Tall, tough,
and
proud. That's how Brenna always remembered him, and from
the
looks of things, he hasn't changed much. Once, she thought
he could save her-whisk her away from her rough childhood
home and start fresh together. Now she knows better . . .
Ash isn't planning to stick around town long. As
soon as he uncovers the truth about his father's death and
makes sure the family ranch is safe, he'll be back out on
his own. And then he runs into Brenna Crane. It broke his
heart to leave her once-a herd of stampeding horses
couldn't
make him do it again. But Brenna has made a new life for
herself, one that doesn't include him. Now he just has to
convince her to give their first love a second chance.
