Can a mistake that is made five years prior continue to haunt, even if you are no longer the person you were five years ago? Lita Matthews is a reporter assigned to cover the human interest portion of the wedding of her best friend, Callie Hanover, to rock star Jake Mitchell. Five years ago, she spent an amazing weekend with Rocky Cardano but that weekend ended in disaster when she published a tell-all story and disclosed his current location. Rocky is very vocal in his fear that the same thing will happen concerning Callie and Jake's wedding. Will she be able to convince him that she would never hurt her best friend, especially when she is hiding a very big secret?
For me,PLAYING WITH THE DRUMMER is a very fast, lite read. This is book three of a series all written by different authors, and while it can be read as a stand-alone, it will be better enjoyed after reading the first two books in the series. I loved the peek into the world of a rock star, as well as the world of a journalist. I enjoyed watching Lita and Rocky find common ground and forgiveness on both sides.
I highly recommend PLAYING WITH THE DRUMMER for anyone who enjoys rock star romances or someone looking for a forgiveness love story.
Entertainment journalist Lita Matthews is on the verge of
making it big. As in her-own-TV-show big. She just needs
amazing inside scoop on the year's hottest celebrity
wedding. Instead, her big break is becoming a big
nightmareβall thanks to rock star Rocky Cardano. Who
apparently hasn't gotten over what happened between them
four years ago...
Rocky is pretty damn familiar with just how far Lita will
go
for a βscoop.β Hell, their unbelievably hot hook-up in
Mexico years ago was the story of a lifetime. Rocky's
learned his lessons. He'll do whatever it takes to keep
her
from the storyβeven if he has to seduce her to the point
of
distraction! But Lita has always had a way of getting
under
his skin. Only this time, he won't be able to just walk
away...
