Mickey, his friends Spoon, Rachel, and Ema are now working for a group called Abeona. Abeona has been saving kids for longer than anyone can remember. Mickey Bolitar and his friends are still reeling from the events of the last book when they are approached to find yet another missing kid. The twist with this missing kid is it's Ema's boyfriend. As the friends try to find the missing boyfriend and help Troy things get complicated with the search to find Mickey's father who is presumed dead. They also learn more about Abeona, its history and purpose.
