I really enjoyed the idea of the magic serum and the effect it had on the world. The way very powerful people try to keep the magic and breed it stronger, without regard for those less powerful than them. Nevada is a smart hard working girl who refuses to let rich, sexy and powerful sway her from her purpose or course. Mad Rogan is powerful and doesn't hesitate to do what he must to find his query. Mad Rogan has known power and death all his life and it's fun to read how he doesn't understand Nevada's moral dilemmas. Some concepts are just strange to him. He seems like a decent guy, just different.

It has everything you could ask for in an urban fantasy, a creative world where humans and magic worker live together, powerful families, sexy, men and the strong female character working hard to care for those she loves.
