Rita Lucero has enough on her plate without her mother-
in-law pulling her into a catering opportunity. Her shop
is focused on cakes, not catering meals. With her
assistant ready to deliver a baby any time, and
dissension among her staff, Rita doesn't need any more
stress. Since Miss Frankie has backed Rita completely,
Rita can't say no.
When Miss Frankie's neighbor, Bernice comes crashing in
one night with tales of seeing the ghost of her uncle,
who went missing 15 years ago, Rita and Miss Frankie will
find themselves drawn into an investigation deep in the
swamps. Bernice's cousin, who is the son of the missing
man, is now missing.
A man is found dead in a ditch alongside the missing
man's house during the search. Rita and Miss Frankie
will be drawn into another investigation.
REBEL WITHOUT A CAKE continues the A Piece of Cake
Mystery series. Rita is dealing with promises made to
her family and promises my by Miss Frankie and
temperamental employees all at once. This has been a fun
series to read. I especially enjoyed REBEL WITHOUT A
CAKE.
