When her brother proposes taking the family's failing
financial magazine to a new direction that incorporates
lifestyle choices like BDSM, Caroline Preston thinks he
has
lost it. She goes to the popular BDSM club, Serve, to
research expecting to hate it. When she sees the owner of
the club, Jonah Briggs, she can't deny a growing
attraction
to both him and the pleasure he offers. As they get
closer,
Caroline will have to fight tooth and nail if she wants to
hold on to her previous negative thoughts about both the
man
and the club, but she may discover that denying her
interest
won't make her as happy as she hopes.
Every time I read a Tessa Bailey novel, I don't think it
can
get any better. Then, she writes something like OWNED BY
FATE, and I'm once again in awe. Caroline and Jonah's
story
is full of everything expected in an exceptional romance:
passion, tenderness, struggling emotional divides, and a
whole lot of sexy.
As hard as it is to pick a favorite part about the novel,
I
found Caroline's entry into the BDSM world most
intriguing.
She isn't familiar with it beyond cultural stereotypes,
but
as a journalist, it's hard for her not to be curious on
some
level. Yet, at the same time, she isn't accustomed to
changing levels of control and submission, and she doesn't
just magically know how it works or how it makes her feel.
The emotional development for her on that level is so
refreshing and understandable. She is a perfect example of
a
well-rounded, three-dimensional, and complex character.
Tessa Bailey creates a world of intense desire, sexual
exploration, and emotional growth with OWNED BY FATE. It
has
easily and quickly gained a place on my favorites shelf. I
can't wait for the next book, and I would absolutely
encourage romance and erotica readers to give this one a
go!
A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint... Her mind rejects his world. But her body knows its master. Journalist Caroline Preston arrives at Serve, New York City's hottest BDSM club, with one goal—to hate it. If her brother wasn't trying to turn the family's respectable financial magazine into a publication that features "lifestyle" pieces for the wealthy and adventurous, she wouldn't even be there, trying to write an article about a world she doesn't understand. But then she sees him. Jonah Briggs doesn't leave his post for just anyone. As the owner of the club, his sole purpose is to ensure that his clientele get everything they need, but when he sees Caroline, his only thought is what he wants—to dominate the sexy little reporter and give the most exquisite pleasure she's ever experienced. Caroline has no intention of entering that particular lion's den—not with her family's reputation at stake—no matter how dark, sexy, and complex the lion in question may be. But with every encounter, she craves more, and with every slide of his lips, she realizes Jonah might just be the man to break down all her defenses…if she'll let him.
