A movie crew has come to Savannah and their "fixer" begs the Honeybee Bakery to take over the catering when he has to fire the original catering company.

Katie and her aunt and uncle all pitch it to make it possible for them to meet the demands of a busy movie set. When the "fixer" is found murdered, Katie and her coven will use their extra skill set to find the killer.

With her boyfriend, Declan working security on the set, Katie enjoys some unprecedented access to the crew. After Simon's death, the bakery is fired and the previous caterer is rehired. A psychic who works for the lead actress predicts that Katie will find the murderer.

Katie plans to stay out of it until someone uses her bakery products to poison most of the crew. Then all bets are off.

Katie and Declan will be pulled into the investigation. Their discoveries of who Simon really was will bring the entire coven into the investigation, each member bringing their particular talents to determining the killer.

Each of the books in the Magical Bakery mysteries series finds Katie learning more about her talents and abilities. As she and Declan spend more time together, they learn that non-believer Declan also has abilities that he is unwilling to recognize.

Ms. Cates does a great job of drawing the reader into her stories. Each time Katie finds herself in danger, we watch with trepidation as she manages to extricate herself from those situations with skill. With each book, I find myself more involved in the lives of the characters.
