This instalment in the Day of Pleasure series shows Molly Ryan busily managing a pub, the Drunken Duck. With two staff off on honeymoon, she's pleased by the offer of help from Callum Eversman, a friend of the new groom. Noah left military service to get married but Callum, likewise serving, isn't looking to settle down yet... though the pub seems like a good place, if he was looking.

TWO IN THE AFTERNOON goes on to explain that in the past Molly beat up a man who assaulted her after a shift. He got jailed, but now Molly has to watch her back in case the loser's connections come to take revenge. Callum, along with Noah's brother Chris, decide quietly to keep their eyes open. Cal enhances Molly's self-defence techniques with some daily coaching, but more than that, he wants to get close to her in a way that he wasn't expecting. Pity his best pal's sister is off-limits!

This is a suspenseful, action-filled erotic romance, with all sides complimenting the whole, making a great story about believable people. I was just sorry that TWO IN THE AFTERNOON is only a novella because I would have read plenty more!
