Penelope is a GRAVE SHIFTER she is able to shift from grave to grave and gain strength from the bones. She is also an assassin for the council and has been lying low for quite some time until she is unexpectedly called from a grave.
When she is fully formed what she finds is demons attacking and someone who left her for dead a hundred years ago. Though her initial desire is to kill the man waiting outside the grave her former lover Galen but when he presents her with a sealed envelope from the council authorizing her to kill not one but two people she has wanted to take out for a long time. Penelope decides to wait until the mission is over to kill Galen. Now if she can just keep from sleeping with him until then or maybe she will just to pass the time.
Penelope is a new kind of supernatural to me and I like the concept of her and what she can do. Galen is a vampire so, of course sexy as they get and he has some endearing weaknesses. They have a good story and a better back story.
GRAVE SHIFTER is book one of the Grave Distinction Series. It's a good quick read and a series you should get into while the getting is good. You will enjoy GRAVE SHIFTER and getting a look into where Gretchen Rily is going to take this series. I am sure we are all in for many more enjoyable stories in the future from the Grave Distinction Series and Gretchen Rily.
