THE LAST TOWN is book three of the Wayward Pines
series. Secret
Service agent Ethan Burk arrived in Wayward Pines, Idaho
searching for his partner. What he discovered was a town
where people were told who to marry, where to work, and how
to behave. In the previous book Ethan discovered the truth
about the town and informed the town's members. Now all
hell has broken lose as the ruler of the town seeks
revenge. The people of the town fight to survive any way
they can and Ethan must not only save his family but
discover a way to save mankind.
THE LAST TOWN is book three and I had not read the previous
two but thoroughly enjoyed this story. THE LAST TOWN and
other books in the series are being adapted to a television
series Wayward Pines that starts on FOX this fall. If
the
television show is half as exciting as the book it should
be good.
Nonstop action and a very interesting concept
about the future of mankind make THE LAST TOWN an excellent
read.
Blake Crouch has created a world that makes you wonder if
you would risk all for the continuation of our species. You
have to wonder at the horrible actions of the town creator
no matter what his purpose.
I highly recommend THE LAST
TOWN but think it would have even been better if I had read
the first two and enjoyed the build up to the final
installment. THE LAST TOWN an alluring look into how the
multination of humanity takes away our humanity no matter
the reasoning behind it. Blake Crouch has created a thought
provoking world in THE LAST TOWN and it is well worth the
read.
Welcome to Wayward Pines, the last town.
Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrived in Wayward Pines,
Idaho, three weeks ago. In this town, people are told who to
marry, where to live, where to work. Their children are
taught that David Pilcher, the town’s creator, is god. No
one is allowed to leave; even asking questions can get you
killed.
But Ethan has discovered the astonishing secret of what lies
beyond the electrified fence that surrounds Wayward Pines
and protects it from the terrifying world beyond. It is a
secret that has the entire population completely under the
control of a madman and his army of followers, a secret that
is about to come storming through the fence to wipe out this
last, fragile remnant of humanity.
Blake Crouch’s electrifying conclusion to the Wayward Pines
Series—now a Major Television Event Series debuting Summer
2014 on FOX—will have you glued to the page right down to
the very last word.
