The Joker never jokes. He's as serious as his job is as a sniper for his Navy SEAL unit. He simply puts the intended in sight and takes him out without any emotions clouding his objective.
Reed Vincenzio is being readied for an easy mission. He must find a bomb that Lily Noretski has hidden, then take her out. Reed, a.k.a. the Joker, has been briefed and provided documents by operatives who know Lily and what she's capable of doing. But Lily isn't just a target to put between the crosshairs; she's a woman with a dreadful past, a victim of governments' covert operations, a pawn in a world of betrayal and deceit. Suddenly, Reed's job is no longer a simple mission; he has only to meet Lily to realize that his objective has drastically changed.
Everyone is after Lily. She trusts no one, not even herself. All sides want Lily for the bomb she has and some want her for the power to control her mind. Lily is particularly cautious and she's almost figured out how they're able to control her. She hasn't relaxed in months, yet when she's with Reed, she feels safe and secure. Reed has only to touch her body and Lily starts dreaming of a life she's convinced she can never have. Reed alone has the ability to bring out the real Lily.
Lilly's goal is to fulfill a promise to protect and rescue girls who were sex slaves in Macedonia. She's sheltered and protected them and tries to procure illegal passports to help them escape the hell they've lived. She can't rest until she knows the last girl is out of harm's way. Only then will she be able to deal with her other problems.
SLEEPING WITH THE AGENT culminates in heightened action where all the players simultaneously aim for their targets - - and escaping the crossfire becomes decidedly difficult. Gennita Low has another winner with this great piece of entertainment, the final book in her Navy SEALs trilogy.
